NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS

Pursuant to Indiana Code 20-26-7-37, the Board of School Trustees of North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation gives notice that on October 22, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., they will meet in public session at the Administration Building, 801 Campbell Drive, North Judson, Indiana, to discuss and hear objections and support regarding the proposed renovations, improvements and equipment for the buildings of the school corporation, including but not limited to roof repairs and technology projects (individually a “Project”, collectively, the “Projects”) and the proposed financing of the Projects. Upon conclusion of the public hearings, the Board of School Trustees will consider the adoption of resolutions approving the Projects and authorizing the issuance of general obligation bonds to finance the Projects and to pay associated costs of the financing.

Notice is also given to the taxpayers of the School Corporation that at the October 22, 2024, meeting at 6:00 pm the Board will consider an additional appropriation of the proceeds of the bonds and that such additional appropriation is necessary to meet the extraordinary need existing at this time: An appropriation has been proposed in the amount of not to exceed $3,000,000 on account of the proposed Projects. The funds to meet such additional appropriation will be provided by the issuance and sale of one or more series of the bonds. The foregoing appropriation is in addition to all appropriations provided for in the existing budget and tax levy, and an extraordinary need for such appropriation exists by reason of the inadequacy of the present buildings to provide necessary school facilities in the School Corporation.
