NOTICE TO BIDDERS

ARENS FIELD, WINAMAC, INDIANA IMPROVEMENT PROJECT – 2023

IMPROVE BUILDING (AIRCRAFT HANGAR)

The Winamac-Pulaski County Board of Aviation Commissioners, Winamac, Indiana (Owner) will receive sealed bids for the following project until 2:00 PM, local time, on the 27th day of July, 2023, at the administration building, Arens Field, Winamac, Indiana.  All responsive bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at this location immediately after the bid proposal due time by the Owner.

Bids to be mailed shall be addressed to the attention of the Winamac-Pulaski County Board of Aviation Commissioners, 2595 North U.S. 35, Winamac, Indiana, 46996, and shall be clearly marked “Sealed Bids, DO NOT OPEN”.  Bids delivered in person may be taken to the same address prior to the bid proposal due date and time.

A voluntary Pre-bid conference will be held at the Arens Field administration building, at 11:00 AM, local time, on the 13th day of July, 2023.  

Base bid proposal scope of work

Hangar floor work involves demolishing the existing asphalt and concrete aircraft parking pads, excavating approximately 9-inches of existing hangar floor soil and aggregate, and placing 4-inches of concrete pavement on 5-inches of aggregate as more specifically detailed in the construction plans and specifications.

Interior partition wall work involves installing interior timber sill plates with sill insulation fastened to the concrete hangar floor with anchor bolts and hex bolt connectors; framing with timber sidewall girts and columns, and 10-feet high corrugated galvanized steel or aluminum sheet panel screwed into the sidewall girts as more specifically detailed in the construction plans and specifications.

Hangar aircraft stall door work involves the installation of commercially available, rolling-sliding door systems, either a two-panel unidirectional sliding door system (with a man-way door for the two end stalls) or a three-panel bidirectional sliding door system (without a man-way door for the eight interior stalls) as more specifically detailed in the construction plans and specifications. 

Additive bid proposal scope of work

Hangar approach pavement work involves demolishing the existing asphalt and concrete approach pavements, performing approximately 1-inch of special excavation, and placing 4-inches of concrete pavement on 5-inches of aggregate as more specifically detailed in the construction plans and specifications. 

A certified check or bank draft payable to the Winamac-Pulaski County Board of Aviation Commissioners, Winamac, Indiana, or a satisfactory bid bond, executed by the Bidder and an approved surety company in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the bid, shall be submitted with each bid.
