On July 27, 2026 at 5:30 p.m., the Board of School Trustees of the Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation will meet to discuss and hear objections and support for a proposed Superintendent contract.

A summary of the proposed Superintendent contract is as follows:

• Term:  August 1, 2026 to June 30, 2029, which may be extended up to an additional five (5) years pursuant to Ind. Code 20-28-8-6(b)(f) upon mutual agreement of the parties.

• Salary:  August 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027-$119,000 (prorated)

July 1, 2027 to June 30, 2028-$120,000

July 1, 2028 to June 30, 2029-$121,000

• Evaluation:  The school board will evaluate the Superintendent annually.

• License:  Upon successful completion of an Educational Specialist program resulting in the Superintendent passing the licensure program and receiving a Superintendent’s license from the Indiana Department of Education Licensing Office, the school board will provide a salary increase of $2,500.  Until the Superintendent completes the EDS program, he will obtain an Emergency Superintendent License from the Indiana Department of Education Licensing Office.

• Duties and Responsibilities:  The duties and responsibilities of the Superintendent are summarized below.

• Board Meetings:  The Superintendent’s attendance is required.

• Annual Work Days:  260

• Leave Days:  Vacation Days - 15 annually

Paid Holidays - 10 annually

Personal Days - 3 annually

• Health Insurance:  Board contributes all the cost except for one (1) dollar.  (Current annual cost: $36,839*)

*Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation’s contribution may be adjusted if the insurance carrier increases the premium for the same level of coverage.

• Term Life Insurance:  Board provides a term life insurance policy with a face value of one hundred ten ($110,000) thousand dollars.  Board contributes all the cost except for one (1) dollar.  (Current annual cost: $170.60)

• Long Term Disability Insurance:  Board contributes all the cost except for one (1) dollar.  (Current annual cost:  $363.14)

• Vision and Dental Insurance:  Board provides a Single Dental Insurance Policy. The Board provides a Family Vision Insurance Policy. Board contributes all the cost except for one (1) dollar for each plan.   (Current annual cost:  $636.46)

• ISTRF Employee Contribution:  The board makes the Superintendent’s contribution to the Indiana State Teacher’s Retirement Fund which is presently three (3) percent of gross wages.  (Current cost:  $3,570)

• Mileage:  Business travel reimbursed at IRS rate.

• Cell Phone:  Business related use is 100% paid by the school corporation.

• Professional Associations:  The board pays the Superintendent’s expenses for memberships in the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents, the Indiana School Boards Association, the Indiana Association of School Business Officials and other professional educational associations that are approved by the school board.

• Other Benefits:  The Superintendent is granted all other benefits established by the school board for all other administrative employees of the school corporation.

• Indemnification:   The School Corporation will defend, hold harmless, and indemnify the Superintendent in legal actions involving incidents in which the Superintendent was legally acting within the scope of employment.

• Goals and Objectives:  Superintendent is required to establish annual written goals and objectives.

• Termination:  Early termination provisions in accordance with Indiana Code 20-28-8-7.

• Additional Expectations:  Continue Professional Development and advancement of educational mission of the school corporation.

• General Contract Provisions:  modification, binding effect, severability, waiver, governing law and venue, and equal drafting provisions.

• The complete proposed contract of the Superintendent will be available on the Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation website and will be presented at the July 27, 2026 public hearing.
