AN ORDINANCE PLACING STOP SIGNS WITHIN THE 

INCORPORATED LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF WINAMAC, INDIANA

Ordinance # 9 of 2025

 WHEREAS, the Town Council for the Incorporated Town of Winamac, Indiana (the “Council”), is responsible for the performance of various responsibilities for the Town of Winamac, Indiana (the “Town”); and     

WHEREAS, the Town has received reports of speeding, traffic violations, and other public safety concerns and nuisances occurring on various streets within the Town; and 

WHEREAS, the Town is desirous of placing stop signs on those streets designated in this Ordinance, for the health, safety and welfare of the Town’s citizens. 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council for the Town of Winamac, Indiana, that this Ordinance Placing Stop Signs Within the Incorporated Limits of the Town of Winamac, Indiana, is hereby adopted as follows:

Section I.

1. Stop Sign Directive. There shall be “Stop Signs” placed at the following locations within the Town:

(a)  At the intersection of Agnew Street and 16th Street; and 

(b)  At the intersection of Franklin Street and Narrow Street. 

2. In addition to all other criminal and civil violations accruing under state or federal law, any violations of this Ordinance may result in a fine of up to One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) and may be enforced by the Town’s police department, or any other law enforcement agency vested with the proper police powers in the State of Indiana, including the Indiana State Police and Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department. 

Section II.

Effective Date

1. Effective Date.  This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days following its publication in a newspaper of County-wide circulation.
