William L. “Bill” Huffman

April 21, 1943 — Sept. 20, 2024

William L. “Bill” Huffman, 81, Winamac, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 20. He passed away at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. 

William was born on April 21, 1943, in Logansport, to the late James F. and Malinda M. (Zarse) Huffman.  After graduating from Francesville High School in 1961, Bill enlisted in the US Army. On Sept. 13, 1964, he married Joyce F. Coogle in Monon. She survives.

Bill was a lifelong farmer in Pulaski County. He was a member of the Paul’s Chapel Church and Gideon’s International. Bill was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a great sense of humor and was full of “good jokes.” Bill loved his family dearly and especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by wife Joyce F. (Coogle) Huffman, Winamac; son Kevin W. [Kara] Huffman, Versailles, Kentucky; daughters: Sheila F. Lamb, Avon, Janet L. [Chad] Inman, Noblesville and Tina M. Huffman, Monticello; grandsons: Ryan [Anna] Huffman, Sean Lamb, Josh [Emani] Inman, Jeff [Chelsey] Inman, Matt Inman and Michael Skaggs; granddaughters: Ashlyn Huffman, Sydney Lamb and Samantha Riddle; one great-grandson Matthew; sisters: Marilyn L. [Lee] Kizlik and Carolyn M. Shivley; and many nieces and nephews. 

Preceded in death by parents: James F. and Malinda M. (Zarse) Huffman; infant son Jeffrey D. Huffman; grandson Austin M. Huffman; brother Donald J. Huffman.

Visitation will be from noon – 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 27, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 27, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac with Celebrant Ashley Young officiating.  

Burial will take place at Paul’s Chapel Cemetery in Winamac. The American Legion and VFW will conduct military graveside services.  

Memorial donations may be made to Gideon’s International.
