Violet L. Wilson

Violet L. Wilson, 91, of Francesville, formerly Winamac, passed away at 6:55 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, in Francesville.

Violet was born on March 19, 1925, in Bruce Station, to George and Hallie (Guise) Bitterling.

Violet was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Winamac. She was a member of the Pulaski Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for many years. Violet was a farm wife. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed eating out and going to yard sales. Violet loved spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed watching baseball and “Gunsmoke” on TV.

She is survived by her daughter Joyce [William] Robison of Winamac; sons: William “Wes” [Linda] Wilson of Winamac, and Luke A. [Connie Smith] Wilson of Winamac; grandchildren: Brian [Pattie] Robison and Kathy [Curt] Jackson; great-grandsons: John Walker and Brandon Robison; and three great-great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband John “Jr.” Wilson; son Daniel Gene Wilson; parents George and Hallie (Guise) Bitterling; two brothers; and one sister. 

Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Winamac with Pastor Tom Woodley officiating.

Burial will take place in Winamac Cemetery in Winamac.

Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
