Robert G. “Bob” Maddox, 81, of Winamac, passed away at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at his residence in Winamac, following a brief illness.

He was born Sept. 8, 1934, in Medaryville, to George and Anna (Smith) Maddox. Bob lived most of his life in Winamac.

Bob married Mary Fisher on May 8, 1971, in Cassopolis, Michigan. Mary survives.

He was a member of Winamac Lodge 262 F&AM, South Bend Scottish Rite and the Murat Shrine. Bob served 27 years as a volunteer with the Winamac Volunteer Fire Department.

Bob served as a Second Lieutenant in the Indiana Army National Guard.

Bob was the former owner of the Winamac Marathon service station. Bob worked as a salesman for Auto Pro in Winamac for eight years. He worked for NAPA Auto Parts in Winamac for 18 years. He was a former school bus driver for Winamac schools.

Bob enjoyed walking, working puzzles, watching movies and antiquing with Mary. He loved visiting Mackinac Island.

Bob will be sadly missed by family and friends. He was loved by all that knew him.

Survivors include his wife Mary Fisher Maddox of Winamac; sons: Robert [Tracey] Maddox of Easley, South Carolina, Ronald Maddox, Raymond [Debi] Maddox of Bartlett, Tennessee, Randall Maddox of Valdosta, Georgia, Richard [Monica] Maddox of Winamac, and Mike [Monica] Maddox, Winamac; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents George Washington Maddox and Anna (Smith) Maddox; and sister Carolyn Termani.

Visitation was 4-8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 28, at Frain Mortuary. Masonic services were conducted Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. Pastor Rick Abbott officiated. The American Legion and VFW conducted military services at the funeral home following services on Tuesday.
