Rebecca Sue “Becky” Yount, 92, of Winamac, passed away at 1:21 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac.

Becky was born on Oct. 3, 1922, in Royal Center, to the late Albert and Corabelle (Wirwahn) Yount.

Becky graduated from Winamac High School in 1940, and attended South Bend Business College. In 1987, she retired from First Union Bank and Trust as head of bookkeeping.

She was a member of the Democrat Party.

Becky was a great sports fan. She enjoyed watching the Cubs, Purdue football and basketball, and Indiana University basketball. She also enjoyed Colts football and was an avid Peyton Manning fan.

She liked to crochet and made many afghans for her friends and family.

She enjoyed the companionship of her cats, most recently Miss Daisy.

Becky will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her sister George Ann Morris of Boise, Idaho; nieces: Michelle [Michael Hayhurst] Morris and Susan [Matt] McCabe; nephew Robert [Laura Rowen] Morris; great-nephews: Conner McCabe, Grant McCabe and Michael Bausch; and great-niece Megan McCabe.

She was preceded in death by her parents Albert Milo and Corabelle (Wirwahn) Yount.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. Funeral services will follow at Frain Mortuary, with Rev. Matt Landry officiating. Burial will take place in Star City West Cemetery, Star City.

Memorial contributions may be given to Pulaski Animal Center or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
