Patricia L. “Pat” Tiede
Patricia Louise “Pat” Tiede, 76, of Francesville, passed away peacefully at the family farm, surrounded by her family as they cared for her through her battle with cancer.
Pat was born on Jan. 4, 1950, in Lafayette, to the late Herman M. and Eva B. (Bowland) Davis. She graduated from the first class at West Central High School in 1968. On May 4, 1969, Pat married the love of her life, Michael D. “Mick” Tiede, and together they shared 57 years of marriage, building a life centered on family, hard work and love.
A devoted farm wife, Pat embraced the joys and challenges of rural life with grace and determination. She also faithfully served the residents of Pulaski County through her work in the Pulaski County Assessor’s Office. Yet, if you asked Pat what her favorite occupation was, she would undoubtedly have answered, “Grandmother.” She poured her heart into her grandchildren, delighting in every opportunity to encourage them, cheer them on, and simply enjoy being together.
Pat had an extraordinary gift for loving people. Whether welcoming someone into her home, sharing a laugh with friends, or offering a listening ear – she made others feel seen, valued and cared for. Her kindness was genuine, her joy contagious, and her sense of humor brought smiles to countless faces. She had a way of making ordinary moments feel special simply by being present.
Her faith was an important part of her life. She was a devoted member of First Christian Church of Francesville and was actively involved with Christian Women’s Club. She also treasured the friendships she enjoyed through the ‘Golden Arches Card Club,’ where laughter and fellowship created rich memories.
Pat is survived by her beloved husband, Mick Tiede; her son, Scott [wife: Tracy] Tiede; her daughter, Kelly [husband: Tim] Weaver; her cherished grandchildren: Caleb, Keziah, Jacobi and Ellie; her siblings: Martha Krohn, Judy Sierzputowski, Ruth Wright, Mike Davis, and Kathy Meyer; and a sister-in-law, Colleen [husband: Terry] Waltersdorf; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Herman M. and Eva B. (Bowland) Davis; and her siblings: Sharon Haby, Shirley Hatfield, Max Davis and Don Davis.
Those who knew Pat will remember far more than the roles she filled. They will remember a woman who found joy in serving others, who loved deeply, laughed often, and made everyone around her feel like family. Her legacy lives on in the faith she modeled, the love she freely gave, and the family she cherished.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the hope of the resurrection and the promise that, through faith in Jesus Christ, this farewell is not forever.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, at Frain Mortuary in Francesville. The Francesville American Legion Auxiliary Post #228 will honor Pat with a memorial service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Private graveside services will be held at Bowman White Post Cemetery in Francesville.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 2, at First Christian Church in Francesville with Rev. Scott Tiede officiating. A luncheon will follow services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to LifeWise Academy at West Central or to White Post Township for the Medaryville Fire Station Building Fund (which Pat was passionate about). Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
