Michael R. “Mike” Lucas
Michael R. “Mike” Lucas, 66, of Francesville (formerly of Buffalo area), passed away at 6:30 a.m., Thursday, June 9, from a house fire at his home.
He was born on Thursday, March 9, 1950, in Winamac to Alda Jane (McKillip) Lucas, and the late Raymond Lucas.
Mike had lived in Francesville for the last twenty (20) years, moving from the Buffalo area.
He was a graduate of Pioneer High School of Royal Center.
Mike had served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971.
He drove a semi most all his life.
Survivors include his daughter Amy [Greg] Allen of Logansport; son Travis [Tracie] Lucas of Lafayette; grandchildren: Alexis Lucas, Emily Allen, Hannah Allen, Katie Lucas, Kyrin Lucas and Gracen Lucas; one great-granddaughter Amelia Lucas; mother Alda Jane Lucas of Buffalo; brothers: Rick [Beverly] Lucas of Monon, and Scott [Pam] Lucas of Hilton, Virginia.
Mike was preceded in death by his father Raymond Lucas; and grandparents Louis and Gladys Lucas.
Gathering of family and friends was from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, July 9, at the Miller – Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello. Memorial celebration of life service followed at the funeral home at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 9. Pastor Doug McCombs officiated. Burial was private for the family.
Memorials may be given to the wishes of the donor.
