Michael E. Cloud

Aug. 4, 1953 — May 7, 2026

Michael Edward “Mike” Cloud, 72, of Pulaski, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, May 7.

He was born on Aug. 4, 1953 to the late George and Lucille (Eller) Cloud. Mike attended school in Pulaski, Star City, and Winamac; graduating with the WCHS Class of 1971.

After school, he devoted his working life to manual labor. His career spanned many industries including farming, truck driving (where he gained many interesting stories he loved to share), and manufacturing. His longest tenure was as a machinist with BraunAbility where he retired as a Quarter Century Club member after more than 30 years of dedicated service. In his retirement he taught us all the meaning of relaxation.

On Oct. 17, 1981, Michael married the love of his life, Judy Kaye Manns. They had only known each other for a short time before being wed, yet they built a long and happy marriage that spanned nearly 45 years. They joyfully welcomed two children and three grandchildren into their family.

Mike was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  Some of his favorite activities included watching Chicago Bears games with his family, cheering on local youth sports, and sharing his ornery spirit with his grandsons.  Any conversation Mike held included a story or two about his grandsons. He enjoyed playing Euchre and Solitaire, watching old sci-fi movies and westerns, and checking the NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day. He also liked to tell stories from his youth while his family laughed and rolled their eyes at hearing the same stories countless times.

Mike was born and passed away in the same family home where he lived all his life. He loved his home along the banks of the Tippecanoe River where he enjoyed many years of fishing, boating, wildlife viewing, and caring for neighborhood cats. Although we are saddened by our loss, we take comfort in knowing Mike was happy with the full, rich life he experienced and that he left this world in absolute peace.

He is survived by wife Judy Kaye (Manns) Cloud, Pulaski; daughter Rebecca [husband: Andy] DePoy, Winamac; son Benjamin [wife: Amber] Cloud, Lexington, Kentucky; grandsons: Alex DePoy, Waterloo, Drew DePoy, Winamac and Jude Cloud, Lexington, Kentucky; three siblings: Pat, Cindy and Dave; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents: George and Lucille (Eller) Cloud; nephew David Michael Cloud; and parents-in-law: Hoy and Joy (Rowe) Manns.

Visitation was from 3-7 p.m., Thursday, May 14, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
