Mark J. “Goob” Reid
Mark J. “Goob” Reid, 56, of Star City, passed away Monday, Oct. 3, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac.
He was born on June 26, 1960, in Toledo, Ohio, to Donald E. and Matilda J. (Rustemeyer) Reid. Mark graduated from Winamac High School in 1979. When in high school he was a talented runner and held the school record for the mile and half-mile for many years.
Mark was an avid NASCAR and drag racing fan. He loved his dog, Blossom. He lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed bonfires, floating the river, fishing, hunting and arrowhead hunting.
Mark loved his family and friends very much. He will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his parents Donald E. and Matilda J. (Rustemeyer) Reid of Winamac; sisters: Diana [Dean] Thomas of Winamac, and Linda [Bob] Cowles of Winamac; brothers: Michael [Margaret] Reid of Star City, Donald E. [Connie] Reid of Star City, Jim “Shoe” Reid of Star City, and David Reid of Winamac; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation was from 9:30 a.m. – noon, Saturday, Oct. 8, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. A memorial service followed at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Rev. Leroy Kinnaman officiated. Burial took place at Winamac Cemetery in Winamac.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with cremation expenses.
