Margaret J. Ledford

Margaret Joan Ledford, 92, of Winamac, passed away Thursday, Sept. 28, surrounded by her family. 

On June 18, 1931, she was born in Headlee, to the late Willard and Pearl Dulin Geisler. Margaret married Robert Wesley Ledford on June 19, 1949 at Paul’s Chapel Church. Robert died on Dec. 15, 1989.

She was a 1949 graduate of Buffalo High School.

Margaret attended First Baptist Church in Francesville. She was a long time church song leader at Paul’s Chapel Church. She enjoyed gardening, especially caring for her flowers. Margaret loved to attend her grandchildren’s sporting events. 

She loved her Lord and she loved her family. Margaret will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her sons: Ricky [Anita] Ledford, Winamac, Michael [Pam] Ledford, Francesville and Chris [Annabelle] Ledford, Hopedale, Illinois; daughter-in-law Samantha Ledford Tucker, Chalmers; 20 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and brother Eugene Geisler, Winamac.

She was preceded in death by parents: Willard and Pearl Dulin Geisler; husband Robert Wesley Ledford; sons: Randy Ledford and Timothy Ledford; and sister Beverly Adair. 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6 at the First Baptist Church in Francesville.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6, at the First Baptist Church in Francesville, with Pastor Dennis Gutwein officiating.  

Burial will take place at Paul’s Chapel Cemetery in Winamac.
