Marcella M. Gudeman
Marcella Marie Gudeman, 94, of Francesville, was called to her heavenly home at 7:10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27. She was born on Sept. 7, 1930, in Francesville to the late Frederick and Katie (Munz) Gutwein. She received Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized on Oct. 17, 1948, in the Francesville Apostolic Christian Church. Marcella was a loving, selfless, encourager who influenced many.
On Dec. 31, 1950, Marcella married the love of her life, Wendell Gene Gudeman. They loved their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; creating so many precious memories. With joy, they served in ministry, traveled and opened their home to so many.
Marcella graduated from Francesville High School and the Indiana Business College. She enjoyed singing and served as drum majorette in high school. She was a lover of reading and the use of proper English. Marcella was quick with numbers and enjoyed bookkeeping.
Survivors include sons: Daniel [Rebecca] Gudeman, Westfield, Tom Gudeman, South Holland, Illinois, Randy [Becky] Gudeman, Plantation, Florida and Matthew [Tracey] Gudeman, Grayslake, Illinois; daughter Wendy [Jon] Schwab, Remington; grandsons: Ben [Rachel] Gudeman, Garrison [Katie] Gudeman, Lance [Ashley] Schwab, Brett [Sheila] Schwab, Luke [Natalie] Gudeman, Quentin Gudeman, Samuel [Keiley] Gudeman, Caleb [Ashlyn] Gudeman and Elias Gudeman; granddaughters: Katie [Scott] Klopfenstein, Jennifer [Rodney] Ross, Ashlyn [Terrance] Johnson, Tiffany [JR] Sauder, Brandy [Seth] Beer, Britni [Darren] Eisenmann, Lexi Gudeman; 40 great-grandchildren; sisters: Fern Leman, Francesville and Suzanne Cook, Francesville; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents: Frederick and Katie (Munz) Gutwein; husband Wendell Gene Gudeman; sisters: Louise Albrecht Heinhold, Esther Gray and Dorothy Arlene Beer; brothers: Francis Gutwein, Harvey Frederick Gutwein, James Carl Gutwein, Edwin Conrad Gutwein and Glen Munz Gutwein; and brother-in-law Willis [Margaret] Gudeman.
Visitation was from 3-8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 2, at the Apostolic Fellowship Center in Francesville.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Apostolic Christian Church in Francesville, with ministers of the church officiating.
Burial took place at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville.
