Marc Albert Peterson
Marc Albert Peterson, 47, of Pretty Lake, Wolcottville, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born on July 24, 1978, in Misawa, Japan, to Rex William and Sumi (Ohta) Peterson. Marc spent the first six years of his life in Japan while his father served in the military. He later grew up in Illinois and eventually settled with his family in the LaGrange and Noble County communities. On August 4, 2007, Marc married Alison N. Schlabach in Winamac.
Marc was serving as the Information Technology Director for LaGrange County, a role that perfectly matched his lifelong passion for computers and technology. He also loved playing video games, and many friends knew him as someone who was always eager to learn, troubleshoot, and share his tech expertise. Outside of work, Marc enjoyed grilling and smoking a wide variety of meats, often preparing meals that brought people together. He cherished the time he spent coaching his son in baseball and created many meaningful memories on and off the field. Marc also loved to travel and experience new places with his family.
He is survived by his wife Alison N. (Schlabach) Peterson; children: Kairi Peterson, Renji Peterson, and Ryu Peterson; mother Sumi Peterson; sister Karen Peterson; niece Mili DeLeon, and nephew Jonathan Rodriguez.
Marc was preceded in death by his father Rex William Peterson and mother-in-law Julie Ann (Webb) Hicks.
Visitation was held from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14, at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 West Michigan Street, LaGrange.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, at the funeral home, with Ben Leu officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ark Animal Rescue and Adoption.
