Loretta A. Krulik
Loretta A. Krulik, 89, of Winamac, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, May 27. She passed away peacefully at Franciscan Health Hospital in Lafayette, surrounded by her family.
Loretta was born on July 26, 1934, at the family home place in rural Winamac to the late Frank W. and Louise A. (Gniadek) Skalon. On Aug. 4, 1951, she married Paul A. Krulik in North Judson. Together, they poured many years of devotion into St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Medaryville. They were also active with the Knights of Columbus in Winamac for a period of time. In later years, Loretta and Paul enjoyed coffee with friends at McDonald’s. Paul passed away on May 23, 2012, and we trust they are together again.
Loretta loved being a wife and mother. She worked as a custodian while her children were in school but was most proud to be a homemaker. Loretta had a gift for hospitality and deeply enjoyed hosting friends and family. She also enjoyed needlework, cooking, gardening (raising both flowers and vegetables), and canning. Loretta cherished time spent at the West Side Senior Center in Medaryville. Most of all, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. She held each one of them close in heart and in prayer every day.
Loretta will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by daughter Beverly Jean [John] Huber, Montezuma; son Joseph J. [Brenda] Krulik, Sr.; grandsons: Jason [Joy] Huber, Leo, Nathan [Sara] Huber, Lafayette, Andrew [Tianna] Huber, West Lafayette, Shawn Krulik, Winamac and Trenton [Morgan] Krulik, Winamac; granddaughter: Julie [Aaron] Zeller, Seneca, South Carolina; great-granddaughters: Jayla Huber, Jacki Huber, Fiona Huber, Lydia Zeller, Abby Grace Zeller, Macy Mullaney, Fallon Krulik and Danica Krulik; great-grandsons: Avery Huber, Finley Huber, Truman Huber, Calvin Huber, Micah Zeller, Caleb Zeller and Kelso Krulik; and many nieces and nephews.
