Joseph E. Brassard

June 23, 1966 — Jan. 11, 2026

Joseph Edward Brassard, 59, of Pulaski, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 11, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home.

He was born on June 23, 1966 in Beaufort, South Carolina, to the late George Edward and Marie Anne (Bouthot) Brassard. Raised in a military family, Joseph grew up moving often, learning early how to adapt and stand on his own. He was a skilled journeyman electrician who took pride in his work. During his career, he worked on large residential projects, including high-end homes and mansions in South Carolina.

Joseph cherished time spent on the water with friends and family; from the Edisto and Beaufort Rivers of South Carolina, where he spent years crabbing and shrimping, to the Tippecanoe River of Indiana, where he enjoyed fishing and boating. He loved to entertain his friends by playing guitar and harmonica, often singing along to the music.  Joseph was an independent man who lived life on his own terms. He had a big heart and was always willing to help a friend when needed.

He is survived by daughter Sarah Brassard; granddaughter Catalena Brassard; brothers: Michael James [Lydia] Brassard and John Martin [Sandra] Brassard; sisters: Patricia Ann [Earl] Ruckdeschel and Suzanne Marie Kiest; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents: George Edward and Marie Anne (Bouthot) Brassard; and brother-in-law and dear friend Michael Stephen Kiest.

Cremation will take place at Frain Crematory in Winamac.

Per Joseph’s wishes, no services will be held.
