Joan Mildred Sierzputowski

June 2, 1931 — April 30, 2016

Joan Mildred Sierzputowski, 84, of Winamac,  passed away at 4:10 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac.

She was born June 2, 1931, in Winamac, to Albert and Olga (Podell) Rhode. 

Joan married David Herman Sierzputowski on Nov. 9, 1957, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Denham. He died Feb. 10, 2011.

Joan was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Denham. She was also a member of the home economics club and bunco club.

Joan was a former 4-H queen. She enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, gardening, reading, bingo and crocheting.

She especially loved her family and being a farm wife.

Survivors include her daughters: Sue [Roger] Stinemetz of Star City, and Karin [Larry] Jenczalik of Knox; sons:  Kevin [Peggy] Sierzputowski of Lowell, Joe [Shelly] Sierzputowski of Mishawaka, and Steve [Kathy] Sierzputowski of Knox; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Olga Laurina (Podell) Rhode; husband David Sierzputowski; grandsons: Dillon Sierzputowski, and Dalton Sierzputowski; and sister Edna Grieger. 

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at Frain Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac, with Pastor Mark Fakih officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to Diabetes Association.
