Jean Ann Fox

Jean Ann “Nan” Fox, 70, of Star City, passed away at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello, on Tuesday, Feb. 3. She was born on Oct. 13, 1955, in Logansport, to the late Henry Oscar and Martha Murlene (Crist) Cornell.

Nan attended Star City Schools before graduating from Winamac High School in 1973. While in high school, she met the love of her life, Thomas P. “Tom” Fox. On Dec. 13, 1975, Nan married Tom at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski. She was proud to be a farmer’s wife and devoted her life to caring for her family and supporting the farm.

Nan graduated from Wright Beauty Academy and worked in several local salons before dedicating most of her time to raising her children and supporting the family farm. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Pulaski White Rural Telephone Cooperative for 12 years.

Nan was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed casinos, bowling, baking, playing cards, attending festivals and traveling. In life, she was one of the luckiest people. Whether it was a raffle, slot machine, lottery ticket, or a game of Yahtzee she was always winning. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.

Survivors include sons: Shaun [Rachel] Fox, Whitestown and Mark [Michelle “Mo”] Fox, Star City; daughter Emily [Brandon] Daggy, Martinsville; four grandchildren: Wyatt Fox, Lucy Fox, Victor Fox and Arlo Fox; sister Lisa [Larry] Barker, Winamac; brother Bart [Cindy] Cornell, Denver, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents: Henry Oscar and Martha Murlene (Crist) Cornell; and husband Thomas P. “Tom” Fox.

 Cremation will take place at Frain Crematory in Winamac.

Visitation was held from 3–7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 9, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

A Scriptural Wake Service began at 7:30 p.m., Monday evening at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Faker officiating, followed by a Christian Mothers Prayer Service.

A Funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 10, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski with Rev. Anthony Rowland and Rev. Leroy Kinnaman officiating.

Burial took place at St. Joseph Cemetery South in Pulaski.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Star City Volunteer Fire Department or Christian Mothers.
