Harold H. Brown

Aug. 16, 1928 — April 20, 2015

Harold H. Brown, 86, of Kewanna, passed away at 6:30 p.m., Monday, April 20, at his companion’s residence in Wheatfield.

Born on Aug. 16, 1928, in Pulaski County, he was the son of the late Harry and Ferrell (Freeman) Brown. He married Rosamond Leiter in 1954 and she preceded him in death in 1994.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War.

Harold retired after 43 years from the Labors and Hod Carriers Union Local #274 in Lafayette.

He enjoyed woodworking, spending time outdoors, taking care of his yard, playing cards and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children: Harold E. Brown of Kewanna, Ralph E. Brown of Monterey, David A. Brown of Buffalo and Tina Brown Jenkinson of Kewanna; sisters: Phyllis Pownall of Rochester and Lola Lauder of Michigan; brothers: Richard Brown of Winamac and Leonard Brown of Mentone; companion Iris Taylor of Wheatfield; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Ferrell (Freeman) Brown; and a brother Donald Brown.

Visitation was 4-8 p.m., Thursday, April 23, at Harrison-Metzger and Rans Funeral Home, Kewanna, and also one hour prior to the service on Friday, April 24. Services were at 11 a.m., Friday, April 24, at Harrison-Metzger and Rans Funeral Home, Kewanna. Chaplain Bob Rawlins officiated. Burial with military rites will be performed at Bruce Lake Cemetery.
