Harold Gene Stotler
Harold Gene Stotler, 84, of Winamac, formerly of Monterey, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 6, at Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac.
Gene was born March 20, 1938, in Monterey to the late Evert D. and Bertha (Rater) Stotler. He graduated from Monterey High School in 1956. Gene served as an MP in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After receiving an honorable discharge, he moved to Colorado and worked for Gates Rubber Co. He lived in Colorado for twelve years and during that time, Gene met Linda T. Wills who he would marry on Aug. 23, 1993, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
After spending a year in Arizona, Gene moved back home to the family farm in 1981. He was a caregiver for his parents until they passed away. Gene was a farmer who enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and fishing. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife Linda T. (Wills) Stotler of Winamac; brothers: Kenneth E. Stotler of Monterey, Ronald E. Stotler of Phenix City, Alabama, Richard K. [Sharon] Stotler of Crestwood, Kentucky, Donald M. [Betty] Stotler of Ellettsville and Lester L. [Donna] Stotler of Monterey; sister Lois I. [Merv] Lemeron of Winamac; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents: Evert D. and Bertha (Rater) Stotler; and brother Garry S. [Janice] Stotler.
Visitation was from 3-6 p.m., Monday, Nov. 14, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac with Rev. Edward Clark officiating.
Burial took place at Riverside Memorial Cemetery in Monterey. The American Legion conducted military graveside services.
