Donald R. Foerg

Donald R. Foerg, 76, of Rochester, passed away at 1:23 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Lutheran Hospital of Ft. Wayne. Don was born on Aug. 4, 1947, in Logansport, to the late Donald and Wilnetta (Gregory) Foerg. 

He was a 1967 graduate of Winamac High School. Don married Cindy Shively on Sept. 5, 1996 in Sandusky, Ohio. She passed on Sept. 29, 2022. 

He worked for Walmart as well as Ad-Vance Magnetics both of Rochester. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge Aerie 852. Don enjoyed gambling at the Lodge and raising Boxers. 

He is survived by his son, Darrell R. Foerg of Tipton; and daughter Laura L. [Boyd] Piercy of Russiaville; grandchildren: Roxie, Dakota and Brogan Foerg and Ely and Elisabeth Piercy; sisters-in-law: Tammy Shively and Dawn Kistler; and close friends: Terry and Renee Lett. 

Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife Cindy; brother Ronald Foerg; step-father Darrell Fry; grandparents: Andrew and Laura Foerg; grandson Dalton Foerg; in-laws: Roy and Dolly Easterday; and brother-in-law Chuck Kistler. 

Following his wishes, no services will be held at this time. Don’s remembrance place will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. 

The arrangements have been entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 West Rochester Street, Akron, Indiana.
