Dolores E. Synak

May 31, 1926 — June 30, 2023

Dolores E. Synak, 97, of Aiken, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, June 30. She was born on May 31, 1926, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Martin and Agnes (Mikoda) Zahorsky. On Nov. 28, 1944, Dolores married Frank C. Synak in El Cerrito, California, and she began her journey as an Army wife. 

Dolores was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski, as well as St. Mary Help of Christians Church in Aiken, South Carolina. She was an avid quilter and talented seamstress. Dolores was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was especially fond of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Dolores will be dearly missed by her family who loved her so much.

She is survived by daughters: Charla [John] Ebenroth and Rhana Synak, both of Aiken, South Carolina, and Franki [George] Chabalewski of Richmond, Virginia; grandsons: Eric [Lisa] Ebenroth, Aaron [Connie] Ebenroth, Frank [Lysa] Ebenroth, Joe [Tracey] Ebenroth, John [Michelle] Ebenroth and Sam Chabalewski; granddaughters: Jane Ebenroth, Rachel [Fran] Lenahan and Sara [Billy] Crum; eighteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death her father Martin Zahorsky; mother Agnes (Mikoda) Vicek;  husband Frank C. Synak; and sisters: Dorothy Vanac, Bernice Fisher and Violet Hoffman.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m to 12 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski.

A funeral Mass will follow at 12 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski.

Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery South in Pulaski.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
