Daryl L. Deitrich

June 17, 1960 — May 8, 2015

Daryl L. Deitrich, 54, of Logansport, passed away in his residence May 8 at 11:02 AM.

Born on June 17, 1960, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Ronald D. Deitrich and Sandra J. Hipsher.

On April 22, 1989, in Clymers, he married Ronda L. Costello who survives.

Daryl was a correctional officer for the Logansport Juvenile Correctional Facility. He was a 1978 graduate of Logansport High School, and a 1980 graduate from the Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute.

Daryl served two terms on the Board of Directors for the Cass County 4-H Fair Board. He also enjoyed showing and judging 4-H animals. Daryl was a former volunteer fireman for the Clymer Fire Department and a board member for the Clinton Township Trustee.

Surviving along with his wife are his daughter Audrey J. Deitrich of Fishers; sons: Ross Deitrich and Reid Deitrich, both of Logansport; mother Sandra [Joe] Hulsizer of Logansport; brothers: Michael [Karen] Deitrich and Robert “Bobby” Deitrich, both of Logansport; sisters: Melissa [Art] Newman of Winamac, and Lisa Deitrich of Logansport; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Ronald D. Deitrich.

Visitation was held from 3-8 p.m. on Monday, May 11 at the Gundrum Funeral Home. A celebration of life was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, at the funeral home. Pastor Angel Rea officiated. Burial took place in the St. Johns Cemetery, Logansport.

Memorials may be made to the family to establish a scholarship fund in memory of Daryl.
