Carol S. Martindale

May 17, 1946 - Jan. 23, 2026

Carol S. (Myers) Martindale, 79, of Star City, went home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of Friday, Jan. 23. She passed away peacefully at her home.

Carol was born on May 17, 1946 in Francesville, to the late Melvin L. and Mamie S. (Culp) Myers. She grew up on the edge of town and attended Francesville High School. On June 6, 1964, Carol married the love of her life, George H. Martindale at the Francesville Methodist Church. They met at the skating rink in Francesville and love blossomed from there.

Throughout her life she worked as a waitress at local eateries such as Matilda’s in Winamac and Oak Grove in Star City. She was also a caregiver and babysitter for many over the years.

Carol had an incredible sense of humor that would lift you up and make you laugh. She was devoted to her family and graciously accepted her God-given role as a wife and mother. She was also exceptionally close to her siblings as well as her many nieces and nephews. Carol will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
