Brian “Fred” Haselby
Brian “Fred” Haselby, 56, of Star City, passed away at 6:03 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Indiana University Health Goshen Hospital in Goshen.
Brian was born on Nov. 5, 1958, in Logansport, to the late Sam and Babe Haselby.
On Aug. 15, 1981, he married Sue Day. She survives.
Brian was a lifelong farmer in Van Buren Township. He also worked many years at Moyer Grain in Star City.
Brian was fondly known by family and friends as “Fred.”
He enjoyed watching NASCAR.
Brian loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife Sue Day Haselby of Star City; son Michael Brian Haselby of Star City; daughter Lisa Mae [Mike] Doty of Kewanna; granddaughters: Ava Haselby and Lillian Doty; grandsons: Colten Haselby and Brantley Doty; brother Bill Haselby of Royal Center; sister Trish [Ron] Bucks of Kewanna; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert B. “Sam” and Lillian Babe (Bonnell) Haselby.
Visitation was 3-7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at Frain Mortuary. Rev. David Sommers officiated. Burial took place in Star City West Cemetery in Star City.
