Betty J. Irven

Betty J. Irven, 94, of Winamac, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at her home.

She was born on March 28, 1921, in Ladd, Illinois, to the late Rufus and Mary M. (Lakatis) Morgan.

Betty married Keith L. Irven on March 15, 1946, in Winamac. He passed away Nov. 28, 1996.

Betty had been a member of the Pulaski Presbyterian Church in Pulaski. She was a former member of the Pulaski Memorial Hospital Women’s Auxiliary.

Betty enjoyed sewing and ceramics. She was proud to be a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty will be missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her son William G. [Sheila] Irven of Winamac; daughter Patricia G. Robinson of Lafayette; granddaughters: Candace [Jeff] Irven-Alcorn of Indianapolis, and Kimberly [Brandon] DeLorenzo of Winamac; grandsons: Keith Grove of Lafayette, Gregory [Rochelle] Grove of Lafayette, and Brent [Ellen] Grove of Ireland; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Rufus and Mary M. (Lakatis) Morgan; husband Keith L. Irven; and sister June Mendenhall.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac, with Rev. Nelda Seger officiating. Private burial will take place in Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.

Memorial contributions may be given to Pulaski Memorial Hospital Women’s Auxiliary.
