Janice A. Reinhold
Janice Ann Westphal Reinhold, 78, of Monterey, passed away Friday, July 31, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born on Sept. 19, 1947 in Winamac, to Fred Raymond and Dorothy Elizabeth Apostal Westphal. She graduated from Star City High School in 1965. Janice married James Raymond Reinhold on March 18, 1972 at the First Christian Church in Winamac.
Janice was retired from Culver Community Schools where she was a bus driver for 25 years. She was a farm wife who enjoyed working on the farm beside her husband. She worked as an election poll worker in Monterey and Winamac for many years. Janice was an active worker on the Pulaski 4-H Fair Board, Pulaski 4-H Council, 4-H extension board. She worked on multiple 4-H community projects. Janice was the president of the 4-H Dairy Project. She was a member of the St. Anne’s Rosary Society for many years.
Janice enjoyed playing Bingo, Bunco and playing cards with friends. She spent many hours playing on her tablet. Janice loved to garden, mow her yard, watching hummingbirds, cardinals and butterflies. Janice loved going to the Wakarusa hay sales to visit with Mary Ellen and Jonas Zimmerman. She loved cooking for friends and family. Janice would give anyone the shirt off of her back if they needed help.
Janice loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Her door was always open friends and family. She especially enjoyed taking care of her family while working in the hay field. Janice would bring them food and cold drinks. She would always escort equipment home so that she knew that her family was safe.
She is survived by husband James Raymond Reinhold, Monterey; son Dewayne [wife, Christine] Reinhold, Walton, Kevin [wife, Amber] Reinhold, Rochester and Richard “Rich” [wife, Abbie] Reinhold, Monterey; daughters: Marsha [husband, Tim] Chaney, Erin, Tennessee, Judith “Judy” [husband, Steve] Reinhold-Colen, Tipton and Elizabeth “Liz” Reinhold, Monterey; eight grandchildren: Patrick [wife, Jodie] Chaney, Aaron [wife, Shelby] Chaney, Haley [husband, Austin] Huff, Taylor Verhaeghe, Keegen Reinhold, Adam Reinhold, Rylan Reinhold and Layne Reinhold; and six great-grandchildren: Adalynn, Aiden, Archer, Jaxson, Grayson and Wyatt; and brother Wayne R. [wife, Karen) Westphal, Winamac.
Preceded in death by parents: Fred Raymond and Dorothy Elizabeth Apostal Westphal; parents-in-law: Raymond and Grace Watson Reinhold; grandchild Angel Baby; several aunts and uncles; and best friend Claudia Hunneshagen.
Visitation was from 2-8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 6, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. A Rosary Service will be held at 2 p.m., on Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral services 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 7, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, with Rev. Anthony Rowland officiating.
Burial will be in St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery in Monterey.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pulaski County 4-H Foundation.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
