Lawrence “Larry” L. Barker

Lawrence “Larry” L. Barker, 72, of Winamac, passed away peacefully at 12:23 a.m., Tuesday, June 16.

Born on Sept. 25, 1953 in Rochester, he was the son of the late Robert and Eleanor “Candy” (Girton) Barker.

Larry was a 1974 Winamac High School graduate.

On Aug. 14, 1976 he married his high school sweetheart, Lisa Cornell, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pulaski.

He retired after 40 years from Galbreath, Inc. in Winamac. Larry was a member of ABATE and Hog. He loved motorcycle trips with Lisa, camping, cooking over the fire, playing cards, spending time with family and friends, and being called Papaw.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Barker; children: Wesley Barker [Crystal] and Krystle Shidler [Todd]; grandchildren: Harleigh Shidler and Mayson Shidler; sister, Robin Kestle [Alan]; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Richard Barker.

Services will be private.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Boy Scouts of America and/or Tippecanoe River State Park.
