NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED ZONING ORDINANCES

WINAMAC PLAN COMMISSION

Notice is hereby given that the Winamac Plan Commission will hold a public Hearing on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. local time, in the Winamac Utilities Complex, Town Council Meeting Room, 623 W 11th Street, Winamac, IN 46996.

The hearing will consider adopting a temporary moratorium on commercial solar energy systems for twelve months and a temporary moratorium on battery energy storage systems for twelve months within all zoning districts within the jurisdiction of the Winamac Plan Commission.

Copies of the proposed ordinances are on file for examination in the Winamac Town Hall, office of the Clerk-Treasurer, 120 W. Main Street, Winamac, IN 46996, during regular business hours. Written objections can be filed with the Plan Commission, through the Winamac Town Hall anytime prior to the hearing and will be considered by the Plan Commission.  Oral comments will be heard during the proceeding. The hearing may be continued as necessary.

ADA accommodation can be arranged by contacting Brad Zellers (Town Manager) 48 hours in advance.

The Plan Commission, at a special meeting to be held immediately following the public hearing on July 9th, 2026, may vote on its recommendation to the Winamac Town Council to either adopt or reject the proposed ordinances.
