NOTICE OF HEARING ON PROPOSED RATES AND CHARGES
Property owners and other interested parties in the Town of Francesville, Indiana, are hereby notified that Ordinance No. 3 of 2025 amending the established rates and charges for services to be rendered by the Water Works was introduced at a meeting of the Town of Francesville Town Council on June 4, 2025. The Francesville Town Council will hold a public hearing on July 2, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. (EST) in the Francesville Town Hall, 100 N. Brooks St., Francesville, IN, on the matter of rates and charges, and consideration of the adoption of said Ordinance No. 3 of 2025. At the hearing, and prior to adoption of any amendments to said Ordinance, all interested parties may appear and be heard. A copy of the proposed amendments to Ordinance No. 3 of 2025 may be examined at the Office of the Clerk-Treasurer, during normal business hours.
In addition to the rates and charges, attached hereto, the following additional rates and charges shall also be considered at the public hearing date:
(a) Customer Deposit: $200.00
(b) Tap Fee: $2,500.00 for one inch meter; if meter is larger than one inch, cost will be $2,500.00 plus labor and material cost
(c) New Water Meter: $50.00 plus actual cost of meter to be charged if new meter is installed at customer’s request and old meter is not faulty
(d) Pulling of Meter at Customer’s Request: $35.00
(e) Re-Installing Pulled Meter: $35.00
(f) Turn off Water Meter for Repair: First time a courtesy; thereafter $35.00/visit
(g) Water Disconnect for Non-Payment: $50.00
(h) Unauthorized Water Usage: $150.00 for first offense plus estimated water usage; $250.00 for each subsequent offense and theft report will be filed
(i) Water Leak Check: One courtesy check per 24-month period; thereafter $35.00/visit
(j) Thaw Frozen Water Meter: First time a courtesy; Second time $100.00; Each subsequent visit shall be $200, plus $50.00 for replacement
(k) Disconnect Fee: $50.00 per customer request
(l) Reconnect Fee: $500.00 per customer request
