Phyllis J. Wuethrich
Phyllis J. Wuethrich, 93, of Francesville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 17. She was born on Dec. 26, 1931 in Milford, to the late Elmer and Rose (Beer) Haab. Phyllis graduated from Milford High School in 1949. She gave her heart to Jesus Christ and was baptized at the Milford Apostolic Christian Church. Phyllis served the Lord faithfully throughout her life.
After graduation, Phyllis worked at REMC in Warsaw until March 11, 1951 when she married the love of her life, Robert W. “Bob” Wuethrich in Milford. They celebrated 72 years of marriage before he passed away on May 7, 2023. Phyllis and Bob spent the first two years of their marriage in service to the US Army stationed at Ft. Meade in Maryland and Ft. Sam Houston in Texas, during which time Phyllis worked in banking. After Bob was discharged, they moved back to the farm in rural Francesville and were blessed with seven children. Phyllis had a knack for numbers which continued on with her work at Gutwein Insurance and keeping the books for the family farm.
Phyllis was a longtime member of the Francesville Apostolic Christian Church. She manifested the fruit of the Spirit and was beloved for her kindness and generosity. Phyllis was truly a peacemaker with a gentle heart.
