Robert “Bob” M. Keller

Robert “Bob” M. Keller passed away on Friday, March 28, at his residence in Monterey. Bob was born on Jan. 9, 1945, in Monterey at his home, Sunnyside Stock Farm, to the late Clemont V. and Marjorie (Prendergast) Keller, Sr.

On Aug. 24, 1968, he was married to Sheila Corley, Chicago, Illinois. Sheila survives. Bob graduated from Monterey High School in 1963.

Bob was a farmer all of his life. He was on the Monterey volunteer fire department for 25 years. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Monterey. He enjoyed searching for arrowheads, coon hunting, playing guitar, poker, watching western TV shows, and training horses. He loved spending time at Bauer’s Grocery Store in Monterey and talking with customers and friends. He loved time on the farm and checking the irrigation pivots. Bob especially enjoyed spending time with his family and showing them the importance of hard work and the love of farming.

Bob is survived by his wife Sheila (Corley) Keller, Monterey; daughter Christine [Pat] Keller Renneker, Plymouth; sons: Robert “Bob” [Jennifer] Keller, Winamac,  and Mark [Stephanie] Keller, Monterey; granddaughters:  Alisha [Dan] Sutton, Allison Keller, Kate Renneker, Ashlee Keller, Erin Renneker, Abby Keller, Madalen Keller; grandsons: Brent Keller and Preston Keller; great-grandson Claude Sutton; great-granddaughters:  Annabelle Sutton and Brinley Pranger; brothers: Tom [Toni] Keller, Jim [Bertie] Keller, Jerry [Rea] Keller, Dan [Peggy] Keller; sisters: Ruth Zehner, Mary Personette, Margie [Tim] Wise; and sisters-in-law: Jean Keller and Colleen Keller.

He is preceded in death by his parents Clemont V. and Marjorie (Prendergast) Keller, Sr; brothers: John Keller and Clement Keller, Jr.; sisters: Pat O’Donnell and Sheila Keller; brothers-in-law: Don Zehner, Johnny O’Donell, Gene Personette, and Jim Large. 

A visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

A Catholic funeral service was held at 1 p.m. at Frain Mortuary in Winamac with Father Anthony Rowland officiating.

Burial was at St. Anne Catholic Cemetery in Monterey.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
