Mildred I. White

April 5, 1928 — March 1, 2025

Mildred I. White, 96, of Winamac, passed away on Saturday, March 1, at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello. 

She was born on April 5, 1928 in Culver, to the late Vance and Daisy (Burris) Kiser. Mildred graduated from Monon High School in 1946. She married Carl A. White on Dec. 28, 1946 in Wolcott. He passed away on June 5, 1995.

Mildred was a longtime member of Tippecanoe Christian Church in Winamac. She was a proud homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, baking and quilting. Mildred also enjoyed fishing. Most of all, Mildred loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She is survived by daughters: Linda Laffoon, Mulberry, Joyce White, Winamac, Sue [husband: Donald] Hall, Kentucky; son James White, Lafayette; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents: Vance and Daisy (Burris) Kiser; husband Carl A. White; great-grandson Tyler Lee Floyd; great-granddaughter Destiny Marie Floyd; brothers: Wayne Kiser, Don Kiser, Jack Kiser, Keith Kiser and Tom Kiser; and sisters: Betty Wooldridge and Judy Leach.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, March 6, at Tippecanoe Christian Church in Winamac.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 6, at Tippecanoe Christian Church in Winamac with Rev. Edward Clark officiating.

Burial will take place at Tippecanoe Cemetery in Winamac.
