Loma L. Collins

April 7, 1930 — May 31, 2024

Loma Lou (Warfield) Collins, 94, of Kewanna, passed away at 4:40 a.m. on May 31, at home surrounded by family. 

She was born on April 7, 1930, to Ned R. and Retha (Irven) Warfield in Kewanna. On June 18, 1950, she married the love of her life Joseph O. Collins and he preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1999. 

Loma Lou loved gardening, genealogy, cooking and caring for her animals. Her life revolved around taking care of her loved ones and spending time with family.

Survivors include her two sons: Greg Collins and Doran [JoAnn] Collins, both of Kewanna; a sister, Charlotte Mae Robbins, of Kewanna; grandchildren: Troy [Kathy] Collins of Plymouth, Dana Jo [Scott] Jackson of West Lafayette, Justin [Michelle] Collins of Logansport and Brandon [Sherry] Collins of Kokomo; step-grandchildren: Mark Kimble of Indianapolis and Brittany [Corbin] Brent of Decatur, Georgia; great-grandchildren: Haley Renee [Garrett] Morris, Evan Smith, and Joe Collins; step great-grandchildren: Kynlee Kimble, Taylin Kimble, Elizabeth Irvin and Alyssa Irvin; great-great-grandchild Greycen Morris; and step-great-great-grandchildren: Oliver, Hayden, and Zachary.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Richard and Raymond Warfield; three sisters: Betty Jean Urbin, Blonnie and Carol Sue Warfield (infant sisters).

Graveside service was held on Monday, June 3, at 12:30 p.m. at Citizens I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Kewanna.   Pastor Jim Howard and Chaplain Todd Wilson officiating.
