Leo J. Siemens
Leo J. Siemens, 86, of Medaryville, passed away at 7:01 a.m. Thursday, March 31, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac.
Leo was born on Aug. 16, 1929, in Secor, Illinois, to the late Herman and Tamma (Rosenbaum) Siemens.
On Aug. 10, 1949, he married Agnes Winter in Logansport. His wife of 66 years survives.
Leo was a lifelong farmer in the Medaryville area and also owned Siemens Insurance Agency. He enjoyed helping his children and grandchildren with their 4-H beef and foods projects.
Leo was a charter member of the Medaryville Lions Club, also serving as past district governor and past council chairman in the state of Indiana. He was a former member of the Pulaski County School Board, West Central Education Foundation, Pulaski County Fair Board, Medaryville Sesquicentennial Board, Potato Fest Committee, and the Community Foundation of Pulaski County. He had also served as White Post Township Trustee. Most recently, Leo had been selected as a torchbearer for the Bicentennial Torch Relay in Pulaski County this October.
Leo loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed.
Survivors include his wife Agnes R. (Winter) Siemens of Medaryville; sons: Gary [Beth] Siemens of Winamac, and Mike [Angie] Siemens of Towanda, Kansas; daughters: Sandy [Kent] Reinhold of Francesville, and Karen [Clay] Scott of Royal Center; granddaughters: Megan [Matt] Scott of Frankfort, Hilary [Blaine] Yaggie of Delphi, Amanda Scott of Logansport, and Shelby Scott of Royal Center; grandson Nicholas Siemens of Towanda, Kansas; great-grandsons: Landon Yaggie, and Cooper Scott, and great-granddaughter Tessa Yaggie.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Tamma (Rosenbaum) Siemens; brother Herman Siemens; and sister Anna Weltzin.
Visitation was 3-8 p.m. Monday, April 4, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Medaryville. A Lions memorial service was held at 6 p.m. Monday night at the funeral home. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel. Pastor James Ketchen officiated. Burial took place in Bowman-White Post Cemetery, Francesville.
