Doris D. Schlutz

Feb. 24, 1927 — July 18, 2015

Doris D. Schlutz, 88, of Francesville, formerly of Medaryville, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at Parkview Haven Retirement Home in Francesville.

She was born Feb. 24, 1927, in Medaryville, to Archie and Maora (Wright) Pullins.

She married George Schlutz on June 6, 1950, in Medaryville. He died Oct. 3, 1970.

Doris graduated from Medaryville High School in 1945.

She was a lifelong member of the Medaryville United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for many years. Doris also served as a Sunday school teacher. She will be remembered for the many delicious noodle dinners she helped prepare. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women.

Doris worked at First Union Bank in Medaryville and retired after 35 years.

She was a member of Aim High Home-Ec. Club of Medaryville for 50 years.

She enjoyed visiting with people, spending holidays with her family, and traveling with her husband's sister.

She was a doting aunt to Jan, Pam and Matt.

Survivors include her sister-in-law Leona Jones Pullins of Chalmers; nieces: Janice [Kevin] Whalen of Derby, Kansas, and Pamela Whitten of Brookston; nephew Matthew [Shelly] Pullins of Brookston; cousins: Jean Barley of Medaryville, and Bill [Mary Lou] Lowry of Indianapolis; and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband George Schlutz; brother George Pullins; and parents Archie and Maora (Wright) Pullins.

Visitation will be after 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 22, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Medaryville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Medaryville, with Pastor Hal Cohn officiating. Burial will take place in White Post Cemetery, Medaryville.

Memorial contributions may be given to Medaryville United Methodist Church.
