Charles Arnold “Chuck” Easley
Charles Arnold “Chuck” Easley, 79, of Summit, Mississippi, passed away May 3, at his residence.
Mr. Easley was born on Nov. 10, 1935, in Kentwood, Louisiana. He was the son of Curtis Easley and Clara (Westmoreland) Easley.
Mr. Easley was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, active duty 1955-1959, the reserves until 1963. Chuck served as a flight instrument mechanic with SAC. He then started to work at various dealerships in Indiana for 13 years as a mechanic, parts manager and service manager.
In 1973, he went to work as an automotive machinist at the NAPA store in Winamac. In 1987, Chuck and his family moved to McComb, Mississippi, and started Easley Tool and Machine with his son Mike. After his retirement in 2002, Chuck remained an active partner in the business until its sale in 2007.
Chuck and Loretta have been involved with Pisgah United Methodist Church since moving to McComb, Mississippi, serving in multiple capacities.
Mr. Easley was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Clara (Westmoreland) Easley.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Loretta Bennett Easley of Summit, Mississippi; sons: Dr. Jeff [Michelle] Easley of Van Wert, Ohio, and Mike [Valerie] Easley of Carriere, Mississippi; daughter Jeannette [Jeff] Tippett of Signal Mountain, Tennessee; sister Audrey Yvonne Moak of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; grandchildren: Sarah Easley [Joe] Sung, Melissa Easley [Dustin] Parks, Brian Easley, Heather Easley, Elizabeth Paige Easley, Eric Easley, Sam Easley, Alexandra Tippett and Will Tippett; and great-grandchild Elizabeth Diane Parks.
Visitation was May 8 at Jones Family Funeral Services from 5-8 p.m. (CDT) and continued May 9 from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 10 a.m. (CDT) at the funeral home. Rev. Laurie Raborn officiated. Burial followed in Hollywood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeff Tippett, Eric Easley, Craig Case, Dustin Parks, Brian Easley, Sam Easley and Rory Whitehead. Honorary pallbearers were the men of Pisgah United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pisgah United Methodist Church Building Fund or Hospice Compassus.
