Ambulances causing pains for EMS

Minor problems with the county ambulances are causing major pains for Pulaski County EMS.
Mike Fort, representing EMS, approached the commissioners about the different mechanical issues the trucks are having. He said some of the work is under warranty, while other work will come from the EMS budget. 
One of the issues is one truck in particular that has been repaired more than three times regarding the same issue. It appears to be a sensor issue. It appears that the issue happens with all GMC ambulance trucks. 
Fort said the issue causes the ambulance to go into “limp mode” while driving. The vehicle would be traveling at 60 miles per hour and suddenly travel at 30 miles per hour. 
Other issues include typical wear and tear such as tires and shocks. 
Commissioner Larry Brady questioned if Fort planned to approach the county council regarding these issues. 
Commissioner Bud Krohn Jr. questioned if there have been problems with the Ford. Fort said the Ford has been the most reliable of the trucks. 
Brady questioned if during the budget hearings if EMS director Nikki Lowry requested for a new truck. It appears she has talked about it but did not put it in the 2017 budget.
Commissioner Terry Young questioned if there is a recall on the truck because of all the problems. Fort said he is unaware of one.
