County bridges are in solid shape

Pulaski County may have several bridges that are older than 50 years old but they are in solid shape, according to the recent inspection. 
Highway superintendent Terry Ruff, along with Jeff Larrison and Jim Lesh, of United Consulting, spoke with the county commissioners about the state of the county bridges and presented a large bridge inspection report to them during a regular meeting on Monday, April 15. 
Larrison said there are a number of bridges that require more than a two-year inspection and the inspection report is part of a four-year contract. Commissioners were also given a summary report of the bridges. 
The summary included the top five bridges that should be addressed soon. Those structures include bridge 257 on CR 400 E. over Mill Creek, bridge 251 on CR 315 E. over Mill Creek, bridge 252 on CR 300 E. over Little Mill Creek, bridge 165 on CR 325 W. over Indian Creek and bridge 249 on CR 250 S. over Mill Creek. The county is planning on rehabbing bridge 257. Design on the bridge should be completed this year with construction beginning early next year.   
The hope for the county is that Community Crossing grant funds can be used for the project.
