A short storm with strong winds on May 31 caused major tree damage in Winamac and the Winamac area. Trees were uprooted in the Winamac cemetery and the town park. Not only did one tree fall on a teeter-totter, breaking the board and bending the metal, but a man, who was fishing in the park, was hit by a falling limb. He was airlifted for medical treatment. The condition and the name of the man is unknown at this time.
