Sandra Kay Weldy

May 16, 1947 — Apr. 29, 2022

Sandra Kay Weldy, 74, of Winamac, passed away at her home on Friday, Apr. 29. She was born on May 16, 1947, in Logansport to the late Joseph D. and Dorothy F. (Morrison) Ross. On June 28, 1996, Sandra married Robert C. Weldy in New Orleans, Louisiana. 

Sandra had worked as a travel agent. She had owned travel agencies in Winamac and Logansport. Sandra was known for her handmade and decorated cards that she frequently sent to family and friends. She was a great baker, especially her pies. Sandra enjoyed walks in the woods and spending time at the family cabin by the river. Sandra will be remembered for her one of a kind, spunky attitude. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. 

She is survived by her husband Robert C. Weldy of Winamac; two daughters: Kenan L. [Tom Weida] Mayhew of Pinellas Park, Florida, and Lisa [Rusty] Long of Pond Creek, Oklahoma; five grandchildren: Paige [Ty], Lainie, Lillie, Isabella and Makaela; great-grandson Link and sister Carolyn (Michael) Teyner of Largo, Florida.  

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents Joseph D. and Dorothy F. (Morrison) Ross and sister Donna Ross.

A celebration of life will be held at the Winamac VFW on Saturday, May 7 from 1-5 p.m. 

Private burial will be in Winamac Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.  

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
