Pulaski County Unified Development Ordinance

NOTICE

On Monday, 19 December 2016, the Pulaski County Commissioners, upon certification and recommendation by the Pulaski County Advisory Plan Commission (APC), adopted Ordinance 08-2016, an amended version of the Pulaski County Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), including changes to the Official Zoning Map of Pulaski County, which is incorporated into the UDO by reference. This ordinance regulates zoning; the subdivision of land; design and development standards; wind-energy convergence systems; and the procedures and processes of the APC, Board of Zoning Appeals, planning/zoning staff and advisors and committees, and Commissioners in their various roles in matters pertaining to land-use planning in all areas of Pulaski County not under the planning and zoning jurisdictions of the towns of Francesville and Winamac. 

On the same date, the Commissioners, upon certification and recommendation by the APC, adopted Ordinance 09-2016, the Pulaski County Development Fee Schedule. The fee schedule establishes various land-use and residential building fees in all areas under the planning/zoning and building-inspection jurisdictions of Pulaski County. Both ordinances were adopted with an effective date of 1 January 2017. 

The Fee Schedule also establishes penalties for violations of the UDO. Fines for violations are issued beginning on the 31st calendar day after notice of violation has been provided; they begin at $25 and increase by $25 on each subsequent day of County government operations. After 60 business days, if fines have not been paid, the County may place a lien on the property upon which the violation has occurred.
