William Scott “Bill” Walters

June 21, 1974 — Aug. 4, 2020

William Scott “Bill” Walters, 46, of Winamac, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at his home. Bill was born on June 21, 1974, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac. He graduated from Winamac Community High School in 1993. From 1994-2008, Bill worked at Kewanna Metals. He had also worked as a farm hand for his great-aunt Dorothy Gilsinger. Bill had attended St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac.

Bill enjoyed watching movies, reading and playing chess. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his brother Jerry Lee [Annetta] Walters Jr.; sisters: Traci Jo [Jeremy] Blanks and Tia Marie Helvie; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; aunts: Deborah Good, Sherry Malott, Ruby Helvie, Helen Armstrong, Birdena Pearce, JoAnn Hero, Elnore Girton and Loretta Nester; uncle Edward Helvie; and numerous cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his father Jerry Lee Walters Sr.; mother Patricia (Helvie) Walters Jones; twin brother Harold David Walters; and great-aunt Dorothy Gilsinger. 

Visitation was from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Rev. Leroy Kinnaman officiated. Burial took place at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Winamac.
