William C. “Bill” Simoni

William C. “Bill” Simoni, 81, of Griffin, Georgia, formerly of Winamac, passed away on Friday, Nov. 4, at Pruitt Health Monroe in Forsyth, Georgia. 

He was born on July 14, 1941, in North Judson to the late Geno and Bernice (Suckow) Simoni.  Bill married Mary J. Rater on Oct. 23, 1965, in Denham.  He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Denham and a retired steelworker. Bill was a joyful man, with a good sense of humor. He was always trying to make someone laugh or smile. Bill will be dearly missed.  

He is survived by his wife Mary J. (Rater) Simoni of Griffin, Georgia; son Scott W. [Teri] Simoni of Griffin, Georgia; grandson Brandon Simoni of Pearisburg, Virginia; granddaughter Brianna [Landon Neal] Simoni of Narrows, Virginia; step-grandson Chase Carden of Griffin, Georgia; great-grandson Cypress Scott Neal of Narrows, Virginia; brother John [Judy] Simoni of Tinley Park, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Geno and Bernice (Suckow) Simoni; son Kurt David Simoni; and sister Louella Simoni. 

Visitation was from noon - 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac.  

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac with Pastor Lynda Hosek officiating.  

Burial took place at Denham Cemetery in Denham.
