Virginia “Ginny” Alto Wagner

March 14, 1930 — July 11, 2016

Virginia “Ginny” Alto Wagner, 86, of Peachtree City, Georgia, formerly of Winamac,  passed away Monday, July 11, at the Southland Rehabilitation in Peachtree City, Georgia.

She was born March 14, 1930, in Lafayette, to Harry and Edith (Nelson) Steiner. 

Ginny was married to Henry Lewis Wagner on Feb. 12, 1961, in Lafayette. Henry died Sept. 24, 2013.

She was an active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Winamac, for many years. Ginny was also member of the church Ladies’ Guild. 

She enjoyed eating out, attending church conferences, vacation Bible school and going to gospel hymn sings. She also enjoyed traveling on bus tours. Ginny enjoyed spending time with family and friends. 

Ginny will be remembered by many for the pies and cinnamon rolls she prepared for church events.

Survivors include her daughter Edie [Dean] Tendick of Winamac; son Herb [Megan] Wagner of Moreland, Georgia; and grandchildren: Jennifer Tendick, Travis Tendick, Kayla Wagner, Benne Wagner and Adam Wagner. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Edith (Nelson) Steiner; husband Henry Lewis Wagner; five brothers; and five sisters.  

Visitation was from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, July 17, at Frain Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 18, at St. Luke  Lutheran Church, Winamac. Pastor Tom Woodley officiated. Burial took place in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery, Medaryville.
