Viola Emma Peterson passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, May 3, in East Lansing, Michigan.

Formerly a resident of Pulaski, she was an active member of whatever community she lived in. She made many friends and generously gave her time wherever she lived. In Indiana, she donated and volunteered regularly at the local blood drive, and served as a Girl Scout leader and a dedicated member of the Pulaski Presbyterian Church. 

She was also a member of the Nite-Liters Home Economic Club for 42 years. In East Lansing, Michigan, she has been an enthusiastic participant at East Lansing Hannah Community Center Prime Time Program, local bowling league and line dancing. Over the years, she has also been an avid quilter and world traveler.

Viola was born on June 20, 1935, in Niles, Michigan, and was married to Ronald Peterson for 52 years. She is survived by her daughter Georgia Peterson [husband Steven Marquie]; sister Grace [James] Bowen; brother Marion [Jeanne] Iliff; and six nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, mother Esther and father Marion.
