Stanley E. Gudeman

Nov. 2, 1925 — Nov. 30, 2017

Stanley Eugene Gudeman, 92, went to be with his lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Nov. 30. 

Stan was born in Francesville, on Nov. 2, 1925, to Bert and Eliza (Getz) Gudeman. He was a veteran of World War II serving in General Douglas MacArthur’s headquarters in Manila, Philippines, and Tokyo, Japan. Following graduation from Indiana University in 1949 and Moody Bible Institute in Chicago in 1954, Stan began serving the Lord as a missionary in Venezuela. After one term and while on furlough he married his dear wife Jean, and together they returned to Venezuela to serve for 6.5 more years. They moved to Arizona in June of 1967 and Stan worked as business manager for a medical group for 23 years. 

Stan, together with his wife, was a member of Bethany Bible Church for 35 years. Following their move to Sun City West, they became members of Trinity Bible Church of Sun City West. 

He is survived by Jean, his loving wife of 59 years, and his children: Sharon [Stoney Burke], David, Robert [June] and Edward [Sheryl]; seven grandchildren: Brock, Brett, Mark, TJ, Angel, Travis and Nik; as well as his brother Dean and his sisters Judy and Kathleen and their families.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 22, at Trinity Bible Church, Sun City West, Arizona.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Sacred Heart Hospice Foundation, 15255 N. 40th St. Suite 125, Phoenix, AZ 85032. This is the hospice service that cared for Stan during the last 5.5 weeks of his life.
