Sheila Dawn Buczek

Sheila Dawn Buczek, 62, of Medaryville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 4. She passed away at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis with her husband by her side. 

Sheila was born Jan. 11, 1959, in Rensselaer to the late Thomas J. and Claudine (Dobson) Childers. She was a 1977 graduate of West Central High School and a graduate of Lafayette Beauty College. On June 18, 1977, Sheila married James A. “Jim” Buczek at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Medaryville. She was a longtime member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church and most recently a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. 

Sheila was a devoted wife, mother, nonny, and friend. She faithfully supported Jim on the farm as well as her kids in 4-H. Sheila enjoyed mowing, traveling, shopping, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was always willing to help others. Sheila will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her husband James A. “Jim” Buczek of Medaryville; daughter Erica [Jeff] Mandsager of Fishers; son Derek Buczek of Medaryville; granddaughter Hayden Mandsager; grandson Brooks Mandsager; and many extended family members. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas J. and Claudine (Dobson) Childers. 

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 10 at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville.

A rosary service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 10 at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 11 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac with Rev. Andrew DeKeyser officiating. 

Burial will take place at White Post Cemetery in Medaryville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pulaski County 4-H Fairground Renovations.
