Roy E. Briney

Feb. 21, 1954 — Dec. 24, 2022

Roy E. Briney, 68, of Kewanna, passed away peacefully at 5:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 24 in Kewanna.

Born on Feb. 21, 1954 in Rochester, he was the son of the late Cecil Raymond and Priscilla Pauline (Parman) Briney.

He was a graduate of Kewanna High School, Class of 1972. Roy worked for many years at Crop Fertility Specialist in Kewanna as the manager. After CFS, he continued working at Winamac Coil Spring in Kewanna until retiring.

Roy enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and friends and playing Euchre. He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed trips to Las Vegas with friends.

He was an auxiliary member of the V.F.W. James F. Talbott Post 1121, Kewanna and a Sons of American Legion member in Rochester.

Surviving are his brothers: John Briney [Jackie] of Kewanna, Jim Briney [Kathy] of Rochester, Dave Briney [Celinda] of Winamac; twin sister Ruth Ann Nicholson [Jack] of Martinsville; sister-in-law Karen Briney of Warsaw; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Raymond Briney.

Services will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, Jan. 6 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Metzger Chapel, Kewanna with Pastor Chris Kosary officiating.

A memorial gathering of family and friends will be from 2 p.m. until the time of service.

Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at a later date.

The family would like to give special thanks to Sherri Lett and Dici Wyatt for the care they gave Roy.
